COMING SOON

ONE Wake Cary Council Candidates Assembly CPC will host this ONE Wake event on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00-11:00 AM. Candidates in Cary's 2025 municipal election will respond to a list of proposals developed by ONE Wake member institutions and leaders.
Trunk-or-Treat:  We need volunteers to decorate the trunks of their cars, dress in costume, and pass out candy to children from our congregation and preschool. We’re providing dinner, so come out for a great event of fellowship and fun with your church family on Sunday, October 26, from 4:30-6:30 PM.
Habitat for Humanity Work Day:  We have slots available to serve on a Habitat for Humanity build at Old Poole Place on Saturday, November 15, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Register with Habitat by Saturday, November 1st to guarantee a spot, and then e-mail Alan Bancroft to let him know you did.
Men's & Yard Work Helpers Breakfast:  Join us for breakfast and fellowship on Saturday, November 1, from 7:30 to 9:00 AM.  Anyone (that means any and all gender identities!) signed up to help church members with yard work later in the day is invited to come!
Yard Work Day:  Help our church members who need a little assistance with yard work on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 9:00 AM. Bring your yard tools and meet at the church to form teams assigned to homes.
Colby Martin’s Unclobber Workshop:  This five hour seminar on Saturday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, is a deep dive into Bible passages that have historically been used to "clobber" LGBTQIA+ people. Attendees will learn the original contexts for each passage, how and why they have been used to justify LGBTQIA+ discrimination, where translations have gotten it wrong, and a better way to understand what these passages meant (both then AND now). Lunch is provided.
Dorcas Food Pantry Thanksgiving Kit Assembly:  CPC is collecting food between October 26 and November 9 for Dorcas Food Pantry Thanksgiving kits. If you can contribute, please take a tag or two from the giving tree in the narthex beginning October 26. Our goal is to collect and assemble 20 bags. On Tuesday, November 11, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, we will gather to assemble the kits.
Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Lunch Supplies:  Provide lunch items for the volunteers working at the November 15 Habitat for Humanity Build Day. All items should be delivered to the church kitchen by 10:00 AM, Friday, November 14.
Cary Habitat for Humanity ReStore: The Cary ReStore needs volunteers to help increase revenue from their store. Profits go toward building more homes. Possible roles include identifying high value items like furniture or art, cleaning, running the cash register, testing electronics, organizing, making things to sell in the store, or repairing furniture. Your first volunteer day will be your orientation day. After that you can arrange your schedule with the store manager. The Cary Restore is located in Dorcas Plaza, just down the sidewalk from the Dorcas Thrift Shop, on High House Road.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES

Worship: Act as a greeter, lay reader, or provide flowers. With prior training, you can also help the Tech Team stream the service. Sunday mornings.

Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry: Staff the Food Pantry at Dorcas Ministries during evening hours. Volunteers must complete paperwork for Dorcas Ministries and go to a training session. Third Thursday of the month, 4:45 - 7:00 PM.
