Growing together.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

The CPC Youth and Family Ministries Team seeks to:

  • Provide places for youth and their families to explore their faith in a non-judgmental environment of loving support.
  • Develop ministry programs that are relational, formative, and consistent with reformed theology using creativity, openness, compassion and grace.
  • Inspire honest and authentic conversations exploring faith and how we experience God.
  • Offer a strong foundation for continued spiritual development as our youth move into the world to share God’s love.
  • Give opportunity for youth to be involved in the full mission of the church through participation in worship and outreach ministries.
  • Provide an environment where our youth can form lasting relationships with adults outside their immediate family.

cpc youth groups

Youth Fellowship programs include three groups for young people in grades 3-12, which generally meet on Sunday evenings from September through May, beginning with a meal and followed by a program connected to the areas of Fellowship, Service, Exploration, and Worship.

Our youth program is coordinated by our Youth PLUS Coordinator, Reverend Alan Bancroft, and the Youth and Family Ministries team. Volunteer adult advisors lead and support each group.
3rd-5th grades
"Christian Adventurers" meet monthly for activities that range from team-building games and service projects to recreational outings and holiday-themed parties.
Advisors are Dana Hancock and Meredith Bullis.
Middle School
CPC MS Youth generally meet weekly for dinner and a program. Activities include service to local non-profits (such as preparing brown bag lunches for the Rescue Mission),  cookouts, topical conversations, camping trips, holiday events, and much more!
Advisors are Holly Boswell, Leah Burton, Rachel Campbell, and Justin Hancock.
high school
CPC HS Youth generally meet weekly for dinner and a program. We like to mix it up with topical programs relevant to a teen’s life (relationships, doubt, and stress are just a few examples), local service opportunities, recreation nights, and outings like hiking and NC State baseball games.
Adult advisors are Melinda Crouse, Katy Frazer, Dennis Hoerger, and Shane Pierce.

CPC youth also are encouraged to participate in a year-long Confirmation class at the conclusion of middle school. This class is offered to youth who are interested in exploring their faith and confirming or initiating their baptism. This is a very special time in their lives and any children of families who are CPC members or those young people seeking to join the church are encouraged to be a part of this experience. At the conclusion of Confirmation, those who have completed the class and are ready to profess their faith are welcomed into church membership during a special confirmation worship service on Sunday morning. Classes are team-taught using study, spiritual practices and interactive activities, and include three day-long retreats. Each confirmand has an adult mentor from the congregation who accompanies them on this journey.
